Flash Floods Ravage Uttarakhand: Four Dead, Over 50 Missing as Homes Washed Away
ఉత్తరాఖండ్‌లో ఆకస్మిక వరదలు తీవ్ర విధ్వంసం సృష్టించాయి. ధరాలి గ్రామాన్ని వరదలు ముంచెత్తగా, నలుగురు మృతి చెందారు. 50 మందికి పైగా గల్లంతైనట్లు సమాచారం.
Flash floods triggered by cloudbursts have wreaked havoc in Uttarakhand’s Dharali village, claiming four lives and leaving over 50 people missing, with houses and hotels swept away in the deluge.
ఉత్తరకాశీ జిల్లాలోని ధరాలి గ్రామంలో అతి భారీ వర్షాలు కురవడంతో కొండచరియలు విరిగిపోయాయి. పర్వతాలపై నుంచి ఒక్కసారిగా భారీ వరద నీరు దూసుకొచ్చి గ్రామాన్ని చుట్టుముట్టింది. ఈ వరదల్లో 25 హోటళ్లు సహా అనేక ఇళ్లు కొట్టుకుపోయినట్లు అధికారులు తెలిపారు. సమాచారం అందిన వెంటనే భద్రతా బలగాలు, పోలీసు, ఆర్మీ, 4 ఎస్‌డీఆర్ఎఫ్, 3 ఐటిబిపి బృందాలు సహాయక చర్యల్లో నిమగ్నమయ్యాయి.
Following a cloudburst in Uttarkashi district, landslides near Dharali caused massive water flow to gush into the village. Around 25 hotels and many homes were reportedly washed away. Search and rescue teams, including police, army, 4 SDRF, and 3 ITBP units, have been deployed.
ఉత్తరాఖండ్ ముఖ్యమంత్రి పుష్కర్ సింగ్ ధామి ఈ ఘటనపై విచారం వ్యక్తం చేశారు. బాధితులను సురక్షిత ప్రాంతాలకు తరలించాలని, తక్షణమే సహాయక చర్యలు ప్రారంభించాలని అధికారులను ఆదేశించారు. ప్రస్తుతం తిరుమల పర్యటనలో ఉన్న ధామి వరద విషయం తెలియగానే తన పర్యటనను రద్దు చేసుకుని ఉత్తరాఖండ్ బయలుదేరారు.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who was in Tirumala for a visit, expressed grief and immediately cancelled his tour to return to Uttarakhand. He directed officials to launch emergency rescue operations and ensure the safety of residents.
కేంద్ర హోంమంత్రి అమిత్ షాతో సీఎం ధామి ఫోన్లో మాట్లాడారు. వరద పరిస్థితులపై ఆయన అడిగి తెలుసుకున్నారు. ప్రధాని మోదీ కూడా ఈ ఘటనపై స్పందించారు. ఘటనాపై విచారం వ్యక్తం చేస్తూ మృతుల కుటుంబాలకు ప్రగాఢ సానుభూతి తెలిపారు. సహాయక చర్యలు ముమ్మరంగా కొనసాగుతున్నాయని పేర్కొన్నారు.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a phone conversation with CM Dhami to assess the situation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took to X (formerly Twitter) to express condolences to the families of the deceased and assured that all necessary rescue efforts are underway.
