బీజేపీ నాయకురాలు మాధవీ లతను బంజారాహిల్స్ పోలీసులు అరెస్ట్ చేశారు. పెద్దమ్మ తల్లి ఆలయాన్ని కూల్చివేసినందుకు నిరసనగా ఆమె వర్షంలో బైఠాయించగా పోలీసులు అదుపులోకి తీసుకున్నారు.

హైదరాబాద్, జూలై 25 (న్యూస్ పల్స్): గత లోక్‌సభ ఎన్నికల్లో హైదరాబాద్ బీజేపీ ఎంపీ అభ్యర్థిగా బరిలోకి దిగిన మాధవీ లత మరోసారి వార్తల్లో నిలిచారు. ప్రభుత్వం ఎమ్మెల్యే కాలనీలో పెద్దమ్మ తల్లి ఆలయాన్ని కూల్చివేసిందని ఆరోపిస్తూ ఆమె బీజేపీ కార్యకర్తలతో కలిసి నిరసనకు దిగారు. వర్షంలో తడుస్తూనే కాలనీవాసులతో కలిసి రోడ్డుపై బైఠాయించిన మాధవీ లతను పోలీసులు అరెస్ట్ చేశారు.
కాలనీవాసులు శతాబ్దాలుగా ఆ ఆలయాన్ని పూజిస్తూ బోనాలు సమర్పిస్తారని, అలాంటి ఆలయాన్ని ప్రభుత్వ భూమి అని చెబుతూ కూల్చివేయడం దారుణమని మాధవీ లత అన్నారు. ఆలయ విగ్రహాన్ని తరలించిన తహసీల్దార్ సంఘటనా స్థలానికి రావాలని ఆమె డిమాండ్ చేశారు. నాలుగు గంటల పాటు నిరసన కొనసాగిన తర్వాత బంజారాహిల్స్ పోలీసులు బలవంతంగా మాధవీ లతను స్టేషన్‌కు తరలించారు.
ఈ సందర్భంగా మాధవీ లత మాట్లాడుతూ, “శతాబ్దాల నాటి అమ్మవారి ఆలయాన్ని కూల్చివేయడం మన భక్తి, ధర్మంపై దాడి. ఈ దౌర్జన్యాన్ని తీవ్రంగా ఖండిస్తున్నాను” అని అన్నారు. మాధవీ లత అరెస్ట్ రాజకీయ వర్గాల్లో చర్చనీయాంశంగా మారింది.
BJP leader Madhavi Latha, who contested as the Hyderabad MP candidate in the last Lok Sabha elections, was arrested for protesting against the demolition of the Peddamma Thalli temple in MLA Colony, Banjara Hills. She sat on the road with residents and BJP activists in heavy rain.
Madhavi Latha criticized the authorities, stating that the temple, worshipped for decades and known for Bonalu celebrations, should not have been demolished under the claim of government land. She demanded the Tahsildar, who shifted the idol, to appear at the spot. After nearly four hours of protest, the police forcibly moved her to the station.
She remarked, “Demolishing a centuries-old temple is not just about land, it is an attack on our faith and culture. I strongly condemn this atrocity.” Her arrest has created a stir in political circles.
