బిహార్ రాష్ట్రంలోని కిషన్గంజ్లో విధులు నిర్వహిస్తున్న డీఎస్పీ గౌతమ్ కుమార్పై భారీ అక్రమ ఆస్తుల కేసు వెలుగులోకి వచ్చింది. ఎకనామిక్ అఫెన్సెస్ యూనిట్ అధికారులు నిర్వహించిన దాడుల్లో కోట్ల రూపాయల విలువైన ఆస్తులు బయటపడినట్లు సమాచారం.
మార్చి 31న అధికారులు కిషన్గంజ్, పూర్నియా, పాట్నా మరియు ఇతర ప్రాంతాల్లో ఉన్న ఆయనకు సంబంధించిన పలు ఇళ్లలో ఒకేసారి సోదాలు నిర్వహించారు. ఈ దాడుల్లో భూములకు సంబంధించిన పత్రాలు, ఖరీదైన నగలు, లగ్జరీ వాహనాల డాక్యుమెంట్లు స్వాధీనం చేసుకున్నారు.
అధికారుల ప్రాథమిక అంచనా ప్రకారం గౌతమ్ కుమార్ తన తెలిసిన ఆదాయానికి మించి సుమారు రూ.80 కోట్ల వరకు ఆస్తులు కూడబెట్టినట్లు అనుమానం వ్యక్తమవుతోంది. 30కు పైగా భూములు, నోయిడా మరియు గురుగ్రామ్ ప్రాంతాల్లో ఫ్లాట్లు ఉన్నట్లు గుర్తించారు.
విచారణలో మరో కీలక విషయం వెలుగులోకి వచ్చింది. ఆయన భార్య, ఒక మహిళా స్నేహితురాలు మరియు ఇంటి పనిమనిషి పేర్లపై కూడా ఆస్తులు నమోదు చేసినట్లు అధికారులు అనుమానిస్తున్నారు. పశ్చిమ బెంగాల్కు చెందిన పని మనిషి వద్ద కూడా విలాసవంతమైన ఇల్లు మరియు ఖరీదైన వాహనం ఉన్నట్లు గుర్తించారు.
గౌతమ్ కుమార్ భార్య ప్రభుత్వ పాఠశాలలో ఉపాధ్యాయురాలిగా పనిచేస్తున్నప్పటికీ కుటుంబ జీవనశైలి విలాసవంతంగా ఉండటం కూడా విచారణలో భాగమైంది.

A major disproportionate assets case has surfaced against Bihar Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Gautam Kumar, currently posted in Kishanganj, after raids conducted by the Economic Offences Unit (EOU) reportedly uncovered assets worth several crores.
On March 31, EOU teams conducted simultaneous searches at multiple locations linked to the officer in Kishanganj, Purnea, Patna and other places. During the raids, officials reportedly seized land documents, jewellery, luxury vehicle records and financial papers.
According to preliminary estimates by investigators, Gautam Kumar allegedly accumulated assets worth around ₹80 crore, which are suspected to be significantly higher than his known sources of income during his three-decade police career.
Investigators also suspect that several properties were allegedly purchased in the names of his wife, a female associate and a domestic worker. Reports indicate that the domestic help, originally from West Bengal, was found to be associated with high-value assets including a luxury house and vehicle.
His wife, who works as a government school teacher, is also under scrutiny as part of the financial investigation due to the family’s reportedly high-value lifestyle.
Following the raids, Gautam Kumar has reportedly been removed from his current field posting and directed to report to police headquarters. Authorities indicated that further departmental inquiry and possible money-laundering investigation may follow.
