అమరావతి, ఆగస్టు 19: సోషల్ మీడియాలో అవాస్తవాలను వాస్తవాలుగా చిత్రీకరిస్తూ ప్రజలను తప్పుదోవ పట్టించడం, అభద్రతా భావం కలిగించడం ఇకపై సహించబోమని హోం మంత్రి అనిత హెచ్చరించారు. దీనిపై వచ్చే అసెంబ్లీ సమావేశాల్లో ప్రత్యేక చట్టం తీసుకురావడమే కాకుండా, వాస్తవాలను ప్రజలకు తెలియజేయడానికి ఒక ప్రత్యేక ఫ్యాక్ట్ ఫైండింగ్ కమిటీని ఏర్పాటు చేస్తామని ప్రకటించారు.
అమరావతి మునిగిపోయిందని, ప్రకాశం బ్యారేజి గేట్లు పనిచేయడం లేదని లాంటి అసత్యాలను సోషల్ మీడియాలో వ్యాప్తి చేస్తూ ప్రభుత్వం అభివృద్ధి–సంక్షేమ పథకాలను దెబ్బతీసే ప్రయత్నం జరుగుతోందని ఆమె విమర్శించారు. సూపర్ సిక్స్ హామీలు విజయవంతంగా అమలవుతున్నాయి, దాంతో ప్రతిపక్షం తట్టుకోలేక తప్పుడు ప్రచారాలకు పాల్పడుతోందని తెలిపారు.
మహిళలకు ఉచిత బస్సు ప్రయాణం వంటి పథకాలతో లక్షలాది మందికి లబ్ధి కలుగుతోందని, కూటమి ప్రభుత్వం అభివృద్ధి–సంక్షేమాన్ని రెండూ కళ్లుగా తీసుకుని పనిచేస్తోందని అన్నారు. అయితే, ఈ విజయాలను అంగీకరించలేక ప్రతిపక్షం రాష్ట్ర బ్రాండ్ ఇమేజ్ దెబ్బతీసే రీతిలో సోషల్ మీడియాలో అవాస్తవ ప్రచారం చేస్తోందని మంత్రి విమర్శించారు.
జీవిత ఖైదు అనుభవిస్తున్న శ్రీకాంత్ కు మంజూరైన పెరోల్ను రద్దు చేశామని, ఈ వ్యవహారంపై పూర్తి విచారణ జరుగుతోందని మంత్రి అనిత తెలిపారు. ఎవరైనా సంబంధమున్నా చట్టప్రకారం కఠిన చర్యలు తప్పవని హెచ్చరించారు. జైలు అధికారులు, ఎస్కార్ట్ సిబ్బంది నిర్లక్ష్యం ఉన్నా వారిపై చర్యలు తీసుకుంటామని అన్నారు. అదేవిధంగా, దిశా ఫౌండేషన్ పేరుతో తప్పుడు ప్రాతినిధ్యం కలిగినవారి పాత్రపై కూడా విచారణ జరుగుతోందని వెల్లడించారు.

She announced that a special law will be introduced in the upcoming Assembly session to curb misinformation, and a fact-finding committee will be formed to present accurate information to the public.
Amaravati, August 19: Home Minister Anitha warned that portraying lies as facts on social media to mislead people and create fear will no longer be allowed. She said the government would not only bring in a special law in the Assembly but also set up a dedicated fact-finding panel to regularly clarify the truth before citizens.
She criticized the spread of false news such as “Amaravati is submerged” and “Prakasam barrage gates are not functioning” on social media, claiming such propaganda aims to damage the government’s development and welfare efforts. The successful implementation of the Super Six promises has led to opposition parties resorting to misinformation campaigns, she alleged.
Highlighting welfare schemes, she said that initiatives like free bus travel for women have already benefited lakhs, with more than 20 lakh women traveling in just four days, saving around ₹20 crore collectively. She added that the coalition government is equally focused on development and welfare, while the opposition is trying to tarnish Andhra Pradesh’s brand image through baseless propaganda.
Speaking on another issue, the Home Minister said that parole granted to life convict Srikanth has been canceled and he was sent back to prison. A full investigation is underway into how he received parole and who was behind it. She warned that strict action will be taken against anyone found involved, including jail staff or escort personnel. She also revealed that an inquiry is being conducted into a woman named Aruna, who falsely posed as secretary of a foundation and contacted the Home Department regarding this issue.
