అమరావతిని ప్రపంచ స్థాయి నగరంగా తీర్చిదిద్దుతామని హామీ ఇచ్చిన ఆయన, 2014లో ప్రజల విశ్వాసంతో సీఎం అయ్యాక ఏపీని దేశంలో టాప్ 3 రాష్ట్రాల్లో నిలబెట్టామని గుర్తుచేశారు. 2019లో అధికారంలోకి వచ్చిన వైసీపీ పాలన రాష్ట్రాన్ని వెనక్కి నెట్టిందని, ఏపీ బ్రాండ్ ఇమేజ్ను దెబ్బతీసిందని, దీని వల్ల రాష్ట్రం 30 ఏళ్లు వెనుకబడిందని విమర్శించారు.
