India, during the ongoing global trade negotiations—particularly at the World Trade Organization (WTO)—has firmly stated its position that foreign pressure which affects domestic agriculture will not be entertained. The government emphasized that the interests of farmers, livestock keepers, and fishing communities are paramount.
అంతర్జాతీయ ఒప్పందాల పేరుతో దేశీయ మార్కెట్‌ను నిర్వీర్యం చేసే నిబంధనలను అంగీకరించేది లేదని స్పష్టం చేస్తూ, అటువంటి ఒత్తిడులకు తలొగ్గే ప్రసక్తే లేదని భారత్ స్పష్టం చేసింది. పేద రైతులు, చిన్న రైతులు, మహిళా రైతులు – వీరి జీవనోపాధిని గౌరవించాల్సిన అవసరం ఉన్నదని భారత్ వాదించింది.
India also opposed any clause that would weaken its domestic markets in the name of global trade agreements. It asserted that small farmers, marginal farmers, and women farmers must be protected and their livelihoods respected.
ఈ నేపథ్యంలో పశుపాలన, మత్స్యకారుల వ్యవహారాల్లో వాణిజ్య ఒప్పందాల పేరిట వచ్చిన ప్రతిపాదనలపై భారతం తన అసంతృప్తిని వ్యక్తం చేసింది. మానవ హక్కులు, ఆహార భద్రత, జీవనోపాధి మొదలైన అంశాల్లో రాజీపడే ప్రసక్తే లేదని భారత్ వాదించింది.
