మైదుకూరులోని వనిపెంట రోడ్డులో ఉన్న శ్రీ బాలశివ డిగ్రీ కళాశాలలో ఎన్ఎస్ఎస్ ఆధ్వర్యంలో కార్గిల్ విజయ దివస్ వేడుకలు ప్రిన్సిపల్ ఎస్పి సురేష్ బాబు, వైస్ ప్రిన్సిపల్ మరియు ఎన్ఎస్ఎస్ ప్రోగ్రాం ఆఫీసర్ భూమిరెడ్డి రవి కళ్యాణ్ ఆధ్వర్యంలో నిర్వహించారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా జై జవాన్ నినాదాలు చేస్తూ అమర జవాన్లకు పుష్పాంజలి ఘటించి మౌనం పాటించారు.
భూమిరెడ్డి రవి కళ్యాణ్ మాట్లాడుతూ 1999 జూలై 26న భారత సైన్యం పాకిస్తాన్ చొరబాటుదారులపై సాధించిన విజయానికి గుర్తుగా ప్రతి సంవత్సరం కార్గిల్ విజయ దివస్ జరుపుకుంటామని తెలిపారు. ఆపరేషన్ విజయ్ కింద 80 రోజులపాటు సాగిన యుద్ధంలో 527 మంది సైనికులు వీరమరణం పొందారని చెప్పారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా విద్యార్థులలో దేశభక్తి భావం పెంపొందించుకోవాలని సూచించారు.
కార్యక్రమంలో ఉపాధ్యాయులు వేణుగోపాల్ నాయక్, రమేష్, శేఖర్, గంగులయ్య, ప్రసాద్ రెడ్డి, మహబూబ్ భాష, విజయ్ తదితరులు పాల్గొన్నారు.
Kargil Vijay Diwas was celebrated at Sri Balashiva Degree College in Maidukuru with patriotic fervor. NSS Program Officer Bhoomireddy Ravi Kalyan emphasized that the Kargil victory was the result of the ultimate sacrifices made by Indian soldiers, urging students to cultivate patriotism and discipline along with education.
The event, held under the guidance of Principal S.P. Suresh Babu and Vice Principal Ravi Kalyan, began with floral tributes and a moment of silence for the martyrs of the 1999 Kargil War. Ravi Kalyan highlighted that Operation Vijay, which lasted for 80 days, resulted in India reclaiming its territory from intruders, with 527 soldiers sacrificing their lives.
He further added that students must draw inspiration from the courage of the soldiers who fought for the nation, while condemning selfish activities that undermine national interest. The program was attended by faculty members including Venugopal Naik, Ramesh, Shekhar, Gangulayya, Prasad Reddy, Mahboob Bhasha, and Vijay.
