తెలంగాణ గర్వకారణమైన కథా, నవలా రచయిత్రి పోల్కంపల్లి శాంతాదేవిని వనపర్తి జిల్లా ఎస్పీ రావుల గిరిధర్ ఘనంగా సన్మానించారు. సురవరం ప్రతాపరెడ్డి తెలుగు విశ్వవిద్యాలయం నుండి ‘ప్రతిభా పురస్కారం’ అందుకున్న శాంతాదేవిని స్వగృహంలో కలసి ఆయన ఈ సన్మానం నిర్వహించారు.
Renowned Telugu novelist and short-story writer Polkampalli Shantadevi, who has brought pride to Telangana literature, was felicitated by Wanaparthy District SP Ravula Giridhar at her residence. She recently received the prestigious Pratibha Puraskaram from Suravaram Pratap Reddy Telugu University for her exceptional contribution to fiction.
గత ఆరు దశాబ్దాలుగా కథలు, నవలలతో పాఠకలోకాన్ని అలరిస్తున్న శాంతాదేవి ఇప్పటివరకు దాదాపు 80 నవలలు, 100కు పైగా కథలు రచించారు. ఆమె రచనల ఆధారంగా అనేక సినిమాలు, టీవీ సీరియల్స్ రూపుదిద్దుకున్నాయి. ఈ రచనలపై అనేక విశ్వవిద్యాలయాలు పరిశోధనలు చేసి పిహెచ్‌డీ పట్టాలను అందించాయని ఎస్పీ గిరిధర్ గుర్తు చేశారు. తెలంగాణ ప్రాంతం గర్వించదగ్గ సాహిత్యస్రష్టగా ఆమె పేరు నిలిచిపోతుందని ఆయన కొనియాడారు.
In his address, SP Giridhar praised Shantadevi’s work, highlighting how her novels and stories have influenced cinema and television over decades. He noted that research on her works at various universities has led to several doctoral dissertations, reflecting her impact on modern Telugu literature.
ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో విశ్రాంత డీఎస్పీ సుబ్బరాజు, న్యాయవాదులు శ్రీరామ్ రావు, మన్మోహన్ రావు, రఘువంశి రావు, అశోక్ రావు తదితరులు పాల్గొన్నారు.

Telangana’s celebrated novelist and short-story writer Polkampalli Shantadevi was felicitated by Wanaparthy District SP Ravula Giridhar at her residence. Recently, she was honored with the Pratibha Puraskaram by Suravaram Pratap Reddy Telugu University for her exceptional contribution to literature.
Speaking on the occasion, SP Giridhar praised Shantadevi’s six-decade-long literary journey, during which she authored nearly 80 novels and over 100 short stories. Many of her works have been adapted into films and TV serials. He also highlighted that several universities have conducted research on her writings, awarding PhDs based on her contributions, making her one of the most respected literary figures from Telangana.
“Polkampalli Shantadevi’s name will remain a pride of Telangana literature for generations,” said SP Giridhar.
The felicitation event was attended by retired DSP Subbaraju, lawyers Sriram Rao, Manmohan Rao, Raghuvamshi Rao, Ashok Rao, and other notable personalities.
