Telangana Director General of Police CV Anand has announced plans to expand the FitCop programme across all units and wings of the Telangana Police, covering approximately 90,000 police personnel.

CV Anand shared the development through his official X account after holding a meeting with the application developers, technical team and senior police officers to review the health parameters and features required for the programme.

He stated that a sponsor has come forward to fund the entire programme for the next 10 years. The meeting also discussed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and the rollout action plan.

According to CV Anand, the programme is expected to be rolled out within 40 to 45 days after the application is launched.

The first phase will focus on screening and recording the health parameters of police personnel, including Body Mass Index (BMI), height, weight, blood pressure and diabetes.

Personnel identified as being at high health risk will receive targeted guidance and monitoring. Doctors will contact them through a call centre to provide medical advice and follow-up support.

The FitCop initiative will also address mental health and provide personalised diet and exercise recommendations to improve overall well-being.

CV Anand said the objective is not merely to monitor the health of police personnel but also to help them lead healthier lives, improve their well-being and enhance their work efficiency.
