A disability-led enterprise in Sangareddy district, which provides employment to persons with disabilities, single women and widows, is reportedly facing severe financial difficulties due to ₹16 lakh in pending payments for the past two years.
According to the representation shared, Jubeda Begum established Divyang Solar Society and Divyang Garments to create employment opportunities for vulnerable groups. The organisation supplied stitched clothing to hostels under the Telangana Social Welfare Department, for which ₹16 lakh reportedly remains unpaid.
The prolonged delay has allegedly affected the organisation’s ability to pay wages to its workers and meet bank loan repayments. The situation has reportedly reached a point where the organisation may have to shut down.
The representation criticised the delay in payments to an enterprise supporting persons with disabilities and economically disadvantaged women. It questioned the government’s commitment to their welfare when payments for completed work remain pending.
The Telangana government, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and senior Finance Department officials have been urged to intervene and release the outstanding ₹16 lakh to provide relief to the organisation and its workers.
Editorial note: The pending amount, duration of the delay and circumstances described above are based on the supplied statement. Independent confirmation and the government’s response have not been established.
