హైదరాబాద్‌ లంగర్‌హౌస్‌లోని బాపూఘాట్‌లో మహాత్మా గాంధీ జయంతి సందర్భంగా శుక్రవారం ఘనంగా నివాళులర్పించారు. తెలంగాణ గవర్నర్‌ శివ ప్రతాప్‌ శుక్లా, ముఖ్యమంత్రి రేవంత్‌ రెడ్డి, మంత్రులు, ఇతర ప్రజాప్రతినిధులు గాంధీజీకి పుష్పాంజలి ఘటించారు.

మహాత్మా గాంధీ జయంతిని పురస్కరించుకుని బాపూఘాట్‌లో జరిగిన కార్యక్రమంలో గాంధీజీ స్మారకం వద్ద నివాళులర్పించిన అనంతరం ఆయన విగ్రహానికి పూలు సమర్పించారు.

మూసీ, ఈసీ నదుల సంగమ ప్రాంతంలో ఉన్న బాపూఘాట్‌కు చారిత్రక ప్రాధాన్యం ఉంది. 1948లో మహాత్మా గాంధీ చితాభస్మాన్ని ఇక్కడ నిమజ్జనం చేశారు.

ఈ సందర్భంగా గవర్నర్‌ శివ ప్రతాప్‌ శుక్లా, ముఖ్యమంత్రి రేవంత్‌ రెడ్డి కలిసి బాపూఘాట్‌లో ఏర్పాటు చేసిన డిజిటల్‌ మ్యూజియాన్ని ప్రారంభించారు. కార్యక్రమంలో సర్వమత ప్రార్థన కూడా నిర్వహించారు.

గాంధీ జయంతి సందర్భంగా అక్టోబర్‌ 2న ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా అంతర్జాతీయ అహింసా దినోత్సవాన్ని కూడా నిర్వహిస్తారు. సత్యం, అహింస, శాంతి వంటి గాంధీజీ విలువలను ఈ సందర్భంగా స్మరించుకుంటారు.

Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Bapu Ghat in Langer Houz, Hyderabad, on Friday on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. Cabinet ministers and other public representatives also participated in the programme.

The dignitaries paid their respects at the Mahatma Gandhi memorial and offered flowers at his statue during the commemorative programme at Bapu Ghat.

Bapu Ghat has historical significance as it is located at the confluence of the Musi and Esi rivers, where portions of Mahatma Gandhi’s ashes were immersed in 1948.

Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy also inaugurated a digital museum at Bapu Ghat. An all-faith prayer was held as part of the Gandhi Jayanti programme.

October 2, Gandhi’s birth anniversary, is also observed globally as the International Day of Non-Violence, commemorating the principles of peace and non-violence associated with his legacy.
