హైదరాబాద్: గణేష్ నిమజ్జనోత్సవాన్ని పురస్కరించుకుని తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వం కీలక నిర్ణయం తీసుకుంది. హైదరాబాద్లో జరిగే భారీ గణేష్ నిమజ్జన శోభాయాత్ర నేపథ్యంలో సెప్టెంబర్ 25, శుక్రవారం సెలవుగా ప్రకటించింది.
ఈ సెలవు హైదరాబాద్, సికింద్రాబాద్ జంట నగరాలతో పాటు రంగారెడ్డి, మేడ్చల్-మల్కాజిగిరి జిల్లాల్లోని ప్రభుత్వ కార్యాలయాలు, పాఠశాలలు, కళాశాలలకు వర్తిస్తుంది. తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వ ప్రధాన కార్యదర్శి సంజయ్ జాజు బుధవారం ఈ మేరకు ఉత్తర్వులు జారీ చేశారు.
భారీ సంఖ్యలో భక్తులు గణేష్ విగ్రహాల నిమజ్జన శోభాయాత్రల్లో పాల్గొనే అవకాశం ఉండటంతో ప్రజల రాకపోకలు, ట్రాఫిక్ నిర్వహణ, నిమజ్జన కార్యక్రమాల సజావుగా నిర్వహణ కోసం ప్రభుత్వం ఈ సెలవును ప్రకటించింది.
సెప్టెంబర్ 25న ఇచ్చే సెలవుకు బదులుగా నవంబర్ 14, 2026 రెండో శనివారంను పనిదినంగా పరిగణిస్తారు. ఈ మార్పు సంబంధిత ప్రభుత్వ కార్యాలయాలు, పాఠశాలలు, కళాశాలలకు వర్తిస్తుంది.
హైదరాబాద్లో తుది గణేష్ నిమజ్జనోత్సవం సందర్భంగా భారీ బందోబస్తు ఏర్పాటు చేశారు. పోలీసుల ప్రకారం వేలాది విగ్రహాలు నిమజ్జనానికి తరలివచ్చే అవకాశం ఉండటంతో భద్రత, ట్రాఫిక్ నియంత్రణకు విస్తృత ఏర్పాట్లు చేశారు.
Hyderabad: The Telangana government has declared September 25, 2026, Friday, as a holiday in view of the grand Ganesh idol immersion procession in Hyderabad.
The holiday will apply to government offices, schools and colleges in Hyderabad and Secunderabad, as well as the adjoining areas of Ranga Reddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts. Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju issued the government order on Wednesday.
The decision has been taken ahead of the major Ganesh immersion procession, which is expected to draw large numbers of devotees and involve significant movement of vehicles and people across Hyderabad and surrounding areas.
To compensate for the additional holiday, November 14, 2026, which falls on the second Saturday, will be observed as a working day for the government offices, schools and colleges covered by the order.
Hyderabad is also making extensive security and traffic arrangements for the final immersion procession. Police have deployed personnel, surveillance cameras, drones and other emergency teams to facilitate the movement of devotees and immersion vehicles.
The holiday order is specifically applicable to the areas mentioned in the government notification. Institutions outside the notified areas should follow their respective applicable schedules.
