Hyderabad is gearing up for the final Ganesh immersion procession scheduled for September 25, with the city police deploying nearly 20,000 personnel to maintain security and manage crowds. An additional 8,142 personnel drawn from other districts have also been allocated across seven security zones. Telangana Today

More than 10,000 CCTV cameras installed along the main procession routes have been integrated with the Telangana State Police Integrated Command and Control Centre in Banjara Hills. Police will also use 24 advanced drones and nearly 100 high-resolution cameras to monitor crowd density and track the movement of idols. Telangana Today

The Khairatabad Ganesh immersion procession is scheduled to begin at 6 am on Friday. Hyderabad City Police have said that devotees will be allowed to have darshan of the Khairatabad Ganesh idol only until midnight on Thursday, after which arrangements will begin to shift the idol for the immersion procession. A joint control room at the Telangana State Police Integrated Command and Control Centre and specialised control rooms at NTR Marg, People’s Plaza, Necklace Road and Moghalpura Sports Complex will oversee security, relief and assistance operations during the immersion. Telangana Today

Twenty-six SHE Teams are working in three shifts, while 139 Crime Control Scheme personnel divided into five sectors and 25 specialised plainclothes teams will monitor crowds on the final immersion day to prevent theft and harassment. Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar warned against vulgar behaviour, hate speech, inflammatory content and the spread of rumours on social media.
