రంగారెడ్డి జిల్లా అబ్దుల్లాపూర్మెట్ మండలం కోహెడలో రూ.2,300 కోట్ల వ్యయంతో నిర్మించనున్న అంతర్జాతీయ సమీకృత పండ్ల మార్కెట్కు ముఖ్యమంత్రి శ్రీ రేవంత్ రెడ్డి శంకుస్థాపన చేశారు. వ్యవసాయ శాఖ ఆధ్వర్యంలో 240 ఎకరాల విస్తీర్ణంలో అత్యాధునిక వసతులతో ఈ మార్కెట్ను నిర్మించనున్నట్లు ఆయన వెల్లడించారు.
హైదరాబాద్ ఔటర్ రింగ్ రోడ్ (ఓఆర్ఆర్) పరిధిలో జనాభా వేగంగా పెరుగుతున్న నేపథ్యంలో భవిష్యత్ అవసరాలను దృష్టిలో ఉంచుకుని ఈ ప్రాజెక్టును చేపట్టినట్లు ముఖ్యమంత్రి తెలిపారు. ప్రస్తుతం ఓఆర్ఆర్ లోపలి ప్రాంతంలో సుమారు 1.34 కోట్ల జనాభా నివసిస్తోందని పేర్కొన్నారు.
పండ్ల మార్కెట్తో పాటు సమీకృత సబ్-రిజిస్ట్రార్ కార్యాలయాల భవన సముదాయానికి కూడా ముఖ్యమంత్రి శంకుస్థాపన చేశారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా జరిగిన సభలో మాట్లాడుతూ, రైతులకు మెరుగైన మార్కెటింగ్ సదుపాయాలు కల్పించడం, వినియోగదారులకు నాణ్యమైన పండ్ల సరఫరాను అందుబాటులో ఉంచడం ఈ ప్రాజెక్టు ప్రధాన లక్ష్యమని వివరించారు.
రంగారెడ్డి జిల్లా ఒకప్పుడు పండ్లు, కూరగాయల సాగుకు కేంద్రంగా ఉండేదని గుర్తుచేసిన ముఖ్యమంత్రి, రియల్ ఎస్టేట్ విస్తరణ కారణంగా వ్యవసాయ భూములు తగ్గిపోయాయని అన్నారు. ప్రస్తుతం కూరగాయలు, పండ్ల కోసం ఇతర రాష్ట్రాలపై ఆధారపడాల్సిన పరిస్థితి ఏర్పడిందని పేర్కొన్నారు.
ప్రత్యామ్నాయ పంటల సాగును ప్రోత్సహించడం ద్వారా రైతుల ఆదాయాన్ని పెంచడంతో పాటు వినియోగదారులకు సరసమైన ధరల్లో ఉత్పత్తులు అందేలా ప్రభుత్వం చర్యలు తీసుకుంటోందని తెలిపారు. వచ్చే రెండేళ్లలో ఈ పండ్ల మార్కెట్ను పూర్తి స్థాయిలో అభివృద్ధి చేస్తామని, నిధుల కొరత లేకుండా గ్రీన్ ఛానెల్ ద్వారా నిధులు విడుదల చేస్తామని హామీ ఇచ్చారు.
భారత్ ఫ్యూచర్ సిటీ, రీజినల్ రింగ్ రోడ్, రేడియల్ రోడ్లు, మెట్రో విస్తరణ వంటి మౌలిక సదుపాయాల ప్రాజెక్టులతో హైదరాబాద్ను అంతర్జాతీయ ప్రమాణాల నగరంగా తీర్చిదిద్దుతామని ముఖ్యమంత్రి స్పష్టం చేశారు.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy laid the foundation stone for an International Integrated Fruit Market at Koheda in Abdullapurmet of Ranga Reddy district. The project will be developed by the Agriculture Department at an estimated cost of ₹2,300 crore.
The proposed market will be spread across 240 acres and is designed to meet the growing needs of the rapidly expanding population within Hyderabad’s Outer Ring Road region. According to the Chief Minister, nearly 1.34 crore people currently live within the ORR limits, creating a strong demand for modern agricultural marketing infrastructure.
Along with the fruit market, the Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for an Integrated Sub-Registrar Offices Complex. Addressing a public gathering, he said the project aims to provide world-class marketing facilities for farmers and improve the supply chain for fruits and agricultural produce.
Revanth Reddy recalled that Ranga Reddy district was once known for extensive fruit and vegetable cultivation. However, rapid urbanisation and real estate expansion have reduced agricultural activity in the region, increasing dependence on imports from neighbouring states.
The Chief Minister urged farmers to adopt alternative and high-value crops to improve incomes and help stabilise market prices. He assured that the government would provide adequate funding through a green-channel mechanism and complete the fruit market project within the next two years.
He further stated that major infrastructure projects such as Bharat Future City, the Regional Ring Road, radial roads, and Metro Rail expansion would strengthen Hyderabad’s position as an internationally competitive city.
