నిర్మల్ జిల్లా లో అమలవుతున్న “పోలీస్ అక్క” కార్యక్రమం జాతీయ స్థాయిలో ప్రతిష్టాత్మక స్కోచ్ అవార్డు సాధించింది. ఈ సందర్భంగా ముఖ్యమంత్రి రేవంత్ రెడ్డి ఈ కార్యక్రమాన్ని తెలంగాణకు గర్వకారణంగా అభివర్ణించారు.
మహిళల భద్రతను పెంపొందించడం, ముఖ్యంగా బాలికల్లో ఆత్మవిశ్వాసాన్ని పెంచడం లక్ష్యంగా ఈ కార్యక్రమాన్ని రూపొందించారు. నిర్మల్ జిల్లా ఎస్పీ జనకీ శర్మిళ ఆధ్వర్యంలో అమలు అవుతున్న ఈ కార్యక్రమం సమాజంలో మంచి స్పందన పొందింది.
ముఖ్యమంత్రి మాట్లాడుతూ, కమ్యూనిటీ పోలీసింగ్లో భాగంగా చేపట్టిన ఈ కార్యక్రమం ద్వారా సుమారు 7,000 మంది బాలికలు, మహిళలకు అవగాహన కల్పించడం విశేషమన్నారు. మహిళలు ఎదుర్కొనే సమస్యలకు తగిన విధంగా స్పందించేందుకు ఈ కార్యక్రమం మార్గదర్శకంగా నిలుస్తుందని తెలిపారు.
ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో మహిళా పోలీస్ సిబ్బంది “పోలీస్ అక్క”లుగా మారి బాలికలు, మహిళలకు మార్గనిర్దేశం చేస్తున్నారు. అత్యవసర పరిస్థితుల్లో ఎలా స్పందించాలో వారికి శిక్షణ ఇస్తున్నారు.
నిర్మల్ జిల్లాలో ప్రారంభమైన ఈ కార్యక్రమం రాష్ట్రవ్యాప్తంగా అమలు చేయదగిన ఆదర్శంగా నిలుస్తుందని అధికారులు అభిప్రాయపడుతున్నారు. తెలంగాణలో మహిళల భద్రతకు ఈ కార్యక్రమం కీలకంగా మారనుంది.

The “Police Akka” initiative implemented in Nirmal district of Telangana has received national recognition by winning the prestigious SKOCH Award. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy described the achievement as a matter of pride for the state.
The initiative was designed to strengthen women’s safety and build confidence among girl students. It has been implemented under the leadership of Nirmal District SP G. Janaki Sharmila and has received positive response from the community.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister noted that nearly 7,000 girl students and women have been sensitized through structured awareness and training programmes under this community policing initiative. He termed the achievement commendable.
Under the programme, women police personnel act as “Police Akkas,” guiding girls and women on how to handle challenging situations and respond effectively during emergencies.
Officials believe that the initiative, which started in Nirmal district, can serve as a model for replication across Telangana, strengthening women’s safety systems statewide.
