హైదరాబాద్ కేంద్రంగా పనిచేస్తున్న తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్ర రోడ్డు రవాణా సంస్థ (ఆర్టీసీ) బస్సుల రద్దీ మహిళలకు ఉచిత బస్సు ప్రయాణ పథకం అమలు తర్వాత గణనీయంగా పెరిగిందని అధికారులు తెలిపారు. మహాలక్ష్మి పథకం కారణంగా ఆక్యుపెన్సీ 69 శాతం నుంచి 98 శాతానికి పెరిగినట్లు వెల్లడించారు.
రవాణా శాఖ మంత్రి పొన్నం ప్రభాకర్ ప్రకారం ప్రతిరోజు సుమారు 60 లక్షల మంది ప్రయాణికులు ఆర్టీసీ సేవలను వినియోగిస్తున్నారని తెలిపారు. మహిళల ఉచిత ప్రయాణం వల్ల ప్రయాణికుల సంఖ్యలో పెద్ద ఎత్తున పెరుగుదల నమోదైందని చెప్పారు.
ఆర్టీసీ ఆర్థిక పరిస్థితిని మెరుగుపరచడానికి ప్రభుత్వం వేల కోట్ల రూపాయలు కేటాయించినట్లు అధికారులు తెలిపారు. అదనంగా కొత్త బస్సులు కొనుగోలు చేసి ఖాళీ పోస్టులను భర్తీ చేసినట్లు వెల్లడించారు.
ఆటో డ్రైవర్ల సంక్షేమం కోసం ప్రత్యేక పథకం తీసుకురావాలని ప్రభుత్వం యోచిస్తున్నట్లు మంత్రి తెలిపారు. తెలంగాణలో ప్రజా రవాణా బలోపేతానికి ప్రభుత్వం చర్యలు కొనసాగిస్తున్నట్లు చెప్పారు.

Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said daily ridership has reached nearly 60 lakh passengers, with the free travel initiative playing a major role in increasing passenger numbers across Hyderabad and other districts.
