424 acres of land at Gurramguda near Hyderabad is as Reserve Forest following a prolonged legal dispute and a Supreme Court verdict in favour of the Forest Department.
హైదరాబాద్ పరిసర ప్రాంతాల్లో పచ్చదనాన్ని పరిరక్షించే దిశగా తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వం కీలక నిర్ణయం తీసుకుంది. రంగారెడ్డి జిల్లా గుర్రంగూడ పరిధిలోని 424 ఎకరాల భూమిని అధికారికంగా రిజర్వ్ ఫారెస్ట్గా ప్రకటించింది.
ఈ భూమిపై చాలా కాలంగా న్యాయపరమైన వివాదం కొనసాగింది. తాజాగా సుప్రీంకోర్టు అటవీ శాఖకు అనుకూలంగా తీర్పు ఇవ్వడంతో ప్రభుత్వం ఈ భూమిని రిజర్వ్ ఫారెస్ట్గా నోటిఫై చేసినట్లు అధికారులు తెలిపారు.
ఈ నిర్ణయం ద్వారా నగర పరిసర ప్రాంతాల్లో పర్యావరణ పరిరక్షణకు తోడ్పడటంతో పాటు గ్రీన్ జోన్ విస్తరణకు అవకాశం కలుగుతుందని పేర్కొన్నారు. భవిష్యత్తులో అటవీ సంపద సంరక్షణ, జీవ వైవిధ్య పరిరక్షణకు కూడా ఇది ఉపయోగపడుతుందని అధికారులు తెలిపారు.
పట్టణ విస్తరణ నేపథ్యంలో పచ్చని ప్రాంతాలను కాపాడటం అవసరమని, ఈ నిర్ణయం పర్యావరణ సమతుల్యతకు సహాయపడుతుందని నిపుణులు అభిప్రాయపడుతున్నారు.
The Telangana government has taken a significant step towards environmental protection by declaring 424 acres at Gurramguda in Ranga Reddy district as Reserve Forest.
The land had been under legal dispute for several years. Following a recent Supreme Court judgement supporting the Forest Department, the government formally notified the land as Reserve Forest, officials said.
The move is expected to strengthen environmental protection and expand green zones around Hyderabad. Officials noted that the decision will also help in biodiversity conservation and long-term forest protection.
