Revanth Reddy అంతర్జాతీయ మహిళా దినోత్సవం సందర్భంగా రాష్ట్రంలోని కాలేజీ విద్యార్థినులకు ఉచితంగా ఎలక్ట్రిక్ స్కూటీలు అందజేయనున్నట్లు ప్రకటించారు. Hyderabad లోని ప్రజాభవన్లో జరిగిన కార్యక్రమంలో ఆయన మాట్లాడుతూ మహిళల విద్య, భద్రత, ప్రయాణ సౌలభ్యాన్ని దృష్టిలో పెట్టుకుని ఈ నిర్ణయం తీసుకున్నట్లు తెలిపారు.
The announcement was made during an International Women’s Day event held at Praja Bhavan in Hyderabad. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said the initiative aims to support women’s education and improve mobility for college-going girls.
రాష్ట్రంలో కాలుష్యాన్ని తగ్గించడమే ప్రభుత్వ లక్ష్యమని సీఎం తెలిపారు. ఇప్పటికే నగరంలో వేల సంఖ్యలో ఎలక్ట్రిక్ బస్సులను ప్రవేశపెట్టినట్లు పేర్కొంటూ, అదే దిశలో విద్యార్థినులకు ఎలక్ట్రిక్ స్కూటీలు ఇవ్వాలని ప్రభుత్వం ఆలోచిస్తున్నట్లు చెప్పారు. ఈ పథకం అసెంబ్లీ ఎన్నికల సమయంలో ఇచ్చిన హామీలలో ఒకటని గుర్తు చేశారు.
The Chief Minister also said the plan aligns with the government’s broader strategy to reduce pollution by encouraging electric mobility. The proposal to provide electric scooters to young women was part of the party’s election promises.
అర్హత విషయానికి వస్తే, సాధారణంగా 18 ఏళ్లు పూర్తిచేసుకుని కాలేజీలో చదువుతున్న విద్యార్థినులకు ఈ పథకం వర్తించే అవకాశం ఉందని చర్చ జరుగుతోంది. ముఖ్యంగా డిగ్రీ చదువుతున్న విద్యార్థినులు ప్రధాన లబ్ధిదారులుగా ఉండవచ్చని సమాచారం. అయితే ఇతర కోర్సులు చదువుతున్న వారికి కూడా ఈ పథకం వర్తిస్తుందా అనే అంశంపై ప్రభుత్వం త్వరలో స్పష్టత ఇవ్వనుంది.
Regarding eligibility, discussions suggest that girls aged 18 and above who are pursuing college education—particularly degree courses—may qualify for the scheme. However, the government is yet to clarify whether students from other courses will also be included.
అవసరమైన పత్రాల విషయంలో సాధారణ సంక్షేమ పథకాల మాదిరిగానే రేషన్ కార్డు, ఆదాయం ధ్రువీకరణ పత్రం, కుల ధ్రువీకరణ పత్రం వంటి పత్రాలు అవసరమయ్యే అవకాశం ఉందని అధికారులు సూచిస్తున్నారు. అలాగే క్రమం తప్పకుండా కాలేజీకి హాజరయ్యే విద్యార్థినులకే ప్రాధాన్యం ఇవ్వవచ్చని సమాచారం.
Officials indicate that documents commonly required for welfare schemes—such as ration card, income certificate, and caste certificate—may also be necessary for this scheme. Regular attendance in college may also be considered during selection.
రాష్ట్రవ్యాప్తంగా లక్షల సంఖ్యలో అర్హులుండే అవకాశం ఉన్నందున ఈ పథకాన్ని విడతలవారీగా అమలు చేసే అవకాశముంది. ముందుగా ప్రభుత్వ కాలేజీల్లో చదువుతున్న విద్యార్థినులతో పైలెట్ ప్రాజెక్ట్గా ప్రారంభించి, తరువాత ఇతర విద్యాసంస్థలకు విస్తరించవచ్చని చర్చ జరుగుతోంది.
Since lakhs of students could qualify across the state, the government may implement the scheme in phases. Reports suggest it could initially start with government college students as a pilot project before expanding further.
ఎలక్ట్రిక్ టూ వీలర్లపై కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం అమలు చేస్తున్న FAME II Scheme కింద సబ్సిడీ కూడా ఈ పథకానికి ఉపయోగపడే అవకాశం ఉందని తెలుస్తోంది. కేంద్ర రాయితీతో పాటు రాష్ట్రం నుంచి కూడా కొంత వ్యయం చేసి స్కూటీలను పంపిణీ చేయనున్నట్లు సమాచారం.
The initiative may also benefit from subsidies under the central government’s FAME II scheme for electric vehicles. By combining central subsidies with state support, the government plans to supply scooters at a reduced cost.
