మావోయిస్టులు ఆయుధాలను విడిచిపెట్టి జనజీవన స్రవంతిలోకి రావాలని రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం ఇచ్చిన పిలుపునకు స్పందిస్తూ హైదరాబాద్లోని ఐసీసీసీ కేంద్రంలో జరిగిన కార్యక్రమంలో 130 మంది మావోయిస్టులు పోలీసులకు లొంగిపోయారు. ఈ కార్యక్రమం ముఖ్యమంత్రి రేవంత్ రెడ్డి సమక్షంలో జరిగింది. లొంగిపోయిన వారిలో ముగ్గురు రాష్ట్ర కమిటీ సభ్యులు, ఒక రీజినల్ కమిటీ సభ్యుడు, పది మంది డివిజనల్ కమిటీ సభ్యులు, 46 మంది ఏరియా కమిటీ సభ్యులు, 70 మంది పార్టీ సభ్యులు ఉన్నట్లు అధికారులు తెలిపారు.
లొంగిపోయిన మావోయిస్టులు తమ వద్ద ఉన్న 124 అత్యాధునిక ఆయుధాలను పోలీసులకు అప్పగించారు. ఒకేసారి ఇంత పెద్ద సంఖ్యలో ఆయుధాలతో లొంగిపోవడం ఇదే మొదటిసారి అని అధికారులు పేర్కొన్నారు.
ఈ సందర్భంగా ముఖ్యమంత్రి మాట్లాడుతూ ప్రజా సమస్యలకు హింస ద్వారా పరిష్కారం దొరకదని, ప్రజాస్వామ్య వ్యవస్థలో చర్చల ద్వారానే మార్పు సాధ్యమని తెలిపారు. రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వ పిలుపును విశ్వసించి మావోయిస్టులు ముందుకు రావడం శుభపరిణామమన్నారు. లొంగిపోయిన వారి ప్రాణాలకు ఎలాంటి హాని కలగకుండా, సాధారణ జీవితం గడపడానికి అవసరమైన ఆర్థిక సహాయం, పునరావాస సదుపాయాలు ప్రభుత్వం అందిస్తుందని భరోసా ఇచ్చారు.
మహాత్మా గాంధీ శాంతియుత పోరాటంతో దేశానికి స్వాతంత్య్రం సాధించిన విషయాన్ని గుర్తుచేస్తూ, ఎంత పెద్ద సమస్యకైనా చర్చల ద్వారానే పరిష్కారం సాధ్యమని ముఖ్యమంత్రి పేర్కొన్నారు. దేశాల మధ్య యుద్ధాలు జరిగినా చివరకు చర్చల ద్వారానే సమస్యలు పరిష్కారమవుతాయని అన్నారు.
ఇటీవల లొంగిపోయిన మావోయిస్టు నేతలు దేవ్ జీ, దామోదర్, రాజిరెడ్డి, చంద్రన్నలతో సమావేశమైనప్పుడు వారి పునరావాసానికి సంబంధించిన కొన్ని ప్రతిపాదనలు తన ముందుంచినట్లు తెలిపారు. ఆ ప్రతిపాదనలను కేంద్ర హోంమంత్రి అమిత్ షా దృష్టికి తీసుకెళ్లినట్లు వెల్లడించారు.
2024 జనవరి నుంచి ఇప్పటివరకు తెలంగాణలో 721 మంది మావోయిస్టులు లొంగిపోయినట్లు ముఖ్యమంత్రి తెలిపారు. లొంగిపోయిన వారికి మెరుగైన ఆర్థిక ప్యాకేజీపై కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వంతో చర్చలు జరిపి నిర్ణయం తీసుకుంటామని, ఇందిరమ్మ ఇళ్లతో పాటు నాణ్యమైన వైద్య సేవలు అందిస్తామని చెప్పారు. చట్టపరమైన అంశాలను పరిశీలించి అవసరమైతే కేసుల ఎత్తివేతపై ప్రత్యేక కమిటీ ఏర్పాటు చేసే అంశాన్ని పరిశీలిస్తామని తెలిపారు.
సమాజంలో హింసకు స్థానం లేదని, అజ్ఞాతంలో ఉన్న మావోయిస్టులు కూడా ఆయుధాలు వదిలి జనజీవనంలోకి రావాలని ముఖ్యమంత్రి పిలుపునిచ్చారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా లొంగిపోయిన మావోయిస్టులకు రివార్డు చెక్కులను అందజేశారు. కార్యక్రమంలో పోలీసు ఉన్నతాధికారులు, ఇతర అధికారులు పాల్గొన్నారు.
A major development took place in Hyderabad as 130 Maoists surrendered before the police at a program held at the ICCC in the presence of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. The surrender came in response to the Telangana government’s appeal asking Maoists to give up arms and join the democratic mainstream.
Officials said the surrendered group includes three state committee members, one regional committee member, ten divisional committee members, 46 area committee members and 70 party members. Along with surrendering, they handed over 124 sophisticated weapons to the police, making it one of the largest weapon surrenders in recent times.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister emphasized that violence cannot resolve public problems and that democratic dialogue is the only path for lasting change. He assured that the government would provide protection, financial assistance and rehabilitation support to those who surrender and choose to lead a normal life.
He also recalled that Mahatma Gandhi achieved India’s independence through peaceful struggle, highlighting that even global conflicts ultimately require dialogue for resolution.
Revanth Reddy said that during recent meetings with surrendered Maoist leaders Dev Ji, Damodar, Rajireddy and Chandranna, several rehabilitation proposals were presented to him and these were conveyed to Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
The Chief Minister added that since January 2024, a total of 721 Maoists have surrendered in Telangana. The government is considering an improved financial package for them in consultation with the central government and will also provide housing under the Indiramma scheme along with quality healthcare. Legal aspects, including possible withdrawal of cases, will be examined and a special committee may be formed if required.
He reiterated that there is no place for violence in society and urged Maoists still in hiding to surrender and join the democratic process. Reward cheques were distributed to the surrendered individuals during the event.
