She recalled that during her college days, a director noticed her at an event and suggested she try acting. Later, she was invited for an audition. Shobha mentioned that she initially took her college passport photos, which amused the team, but they later arranged a proper photoshoot and cast her as the heroine in a Kannada serial. Her first pay was ₹750 per day, which she considers a turning point in her life.
