కత్వారు కా పురా ప్రాంతంలో నివసించే రాజీవ్ సింగ్ ప్రతిరోజు మాదిరిగానే ఉదయం వాకింగ్కు వెళ్లాడు. ఈ సమయంలో బైక్పై వచ్చిన ఇద్దరు దుండగులు అతడిని లక్ష్యంగా చేసుకుని నిలిచారు. వారిలో ఒకరు బైక్పై ఉండగా, మరొకరు తుపాకీతో ముందుకు వచ్చి సింగ్పై కాల్పులు జరిపాడు.
కాల్పుల్లో తీవ్రంగా గాయపడిన రాజీవ్ సింగ్ అక్కడికక్కడే మృతి చెందాడు. అనంతరం నిందితులు బైక్పై పారిపోవడానికి ప్రయత్నించగా వాహనం స్టార్ట్ కాలేదు. దీంతో అక్కడున్న స్థానికులు వారిని పట్టుకునేందుకు ప్రయత్నించారు.
ఈ సమయంలో దుండగులు తుపాకీతో బెదిరించడంతో ప్రజలు వెనక్కి తగ్గారు. కొద్ది సేపటి తరువాత బైక్ స్టార్ట్ కావడంతో ఇద్దరూ అక్కడి నుంచి పారిపోయారు. ఈ ఘటన స్థానికంగా భయాందోళనలు రేకెత్తించింది.
సమాచారం అందుకున్న పోలీసులు సంఘటనా స్థలానికి చేరుకుని పరిస్థితిని సమీక్షించారు. మృతదేహాన్ని పోస్టుమార్టం కోసం తరలించారు. సీసీటీవీ ఫుటేజ్ ఆధారంగా కేసు నమోదు చేసి దర్యాప్తు చేస్తున్నారు.

A shocking incident took place in Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday morning, where a lawyer, Rajeev Singh, was shot dead by two unidentified assailants.
The incident occurred in Katwaru Ka Pura area when Rajeev Singh had gone for his routine morning walk. Two attackers arrived on a motorcycle and stopped near him. While one remained on the bike, the other approached Singh with a firearm and opened fire.
Singh collapsed on the spot due to gunshot injuries and died immediately. After the attack, the accused attempted to flee but faced an unexpected delay as their motorcycle failed to start.
Locals tried to chase and catch the attackers, but the assailants threatened them with the weapon, forcing them to step back. Moments later, the bike started, and the attackers managed to escape from the scene.
Police reached the spot soon after receiving information and shifted the body for postmortem. A case has been registered, and investigation is underway based on CCTV footage captured during the incident.
