Highway commuters across India have been alerted about a revision in FASTag annual pass charges, which will come into effect from April 1, 2026. The change is expected to impact frequent travelers on national highways.
The National Highways Authority has increased the FASTag annual pass fee from ₹3,000 to ₹3,075, marking an approximate 2.5% hike. The annual pass enables seamless toll payments, allowing vehicles to pass through toll plazas without cash transactions.
The annual pass remains valid for one year or up to 200 toll crossings, whichever is earlier. Once the limit is reached, the pass automatically converts into a regular FASTag, requiring renewal for continued benefits.
Officials stated that the pass will be applicable at around 1,150 toll plazas across national highways and expressways. However, it will not be valid on state highways or privately operated toll roads.
Vehicle owners are advised to renew or purchase the annual pass before April 1 to avail the current pricing. The pass can be obtained through the Rajmarg Yatra mobile application or the official website using registered mobile numbers and OTP verification.
Authorities highlight that FASTag significantly reduces waiting time at toll plazas and promotes hassle-free digital transactions, benefiting regular highway users.
