The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT Hyderabad), located in Kandi, Sangareddy district, Telangana, has recorded a significant rise in global academic rankings. In the QS World University Rankings 2026 by Subject, the institute secured a global rank of 395 in Engineering and Technology, marking a jump of over 100 positions compared to the previous year.
According to the rankings, IIT Hyderabad stands at 16th position in India in the same category. Notably, six engineering disciplines have been placed within the global top 300, with Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, and Chemical Engineering ranking in the 251–300 band.
