తెలంగాణకు కొత్త గవర్నర్గా శివ ప్రతాప్ శుక్లాను కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం నియమించింది. రాష్ట్రపతి కార్యాలయం ప్రకటించిన తాజా నిర్ణయంతో గవర్నర్ల బదిలీలు, కొత్త నియామకాలు చోటుచేసుకున్నాయి.
The Central Government has appointed Shiv Pratap Shukla as the new Governor of Telangana as part of a broader reshuffle of Governors announced by the President’s Office.
కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం పలు రాష్ట్రాల్లో గవర్నర్ల నియామకాలు, బదిలీలపై కీలక నిర్ణయం తీసుకుంది. ఈ క్రమంలో తెలంగాణకు కొత్త గవర్నర్గా శివ ప్రతాప్ శుక్లాను నియమిస్తూ రాష్ట్రపతి భవన్ ప్రకటన విడుదల చేసింది. పశ్చిమ బెంగాల్ గవర్నర్ సీవీ ఆనంద్ బోస్ తన పదవికి రాజీనామా చేసిన నేపథ్యంలో పలు రాష్ట్రాల్లో గవర్నర్ల మార్పులు చోటుచేసుకున్నాయి.
ఈ మార్పుల్లో భాగంగా తమిళనాడు గవర్నర్గా ఉన్న ఆర్.ఎన్. రవిని పశ్చిమ బెంగాల్కు బదిలీ చేశారు. తెలంగాణ గవర్నర్గా కొనసాగుతున్న జిష్ణు దేవ్ వర్మను మహారాష్ట్రకు పంపించారు. హిమాచల్ ప్రదేశ్ గవర్నర్గా ఉన్న శివ ప్రతాప్ శుక్లాకు తెలంగాణ గవర్నర్ బాధ్యతలు అప్పగించారు. అలాగే ఢిల్లీ లెఫ్టినెంట్ గవర్నర్ వినయ్ కుమార్ సక్సేనా లద్దాఖ్ లెఫ్టినెంట్ గవర్నర్గా నియమితులయ్యారు. లద్దాఖ్ లెఫ్టినెంట్ గవర్నర్ కవీందర్ గుప్తాను హిమాచల్ ప్రదేశ్ గవర్నర్గా నియమించారు. ఢిల్లీ లెఫ్టినెంట్ గవర్నర్గా తరుణ్ జిత్ సంధూను నియమించారు. కేరళ గవర్నర్ రాజేంద్ర విశ్వనాథ్ అర్లేకర్కు తమిళనాడు గవర్నర్గా అదనపు బాధ్యతలు అప్పగించారు. నందకిశోర్ యాదవ్ నాగాలాండ్ గవర్నర్గా, సయ్యెద్ అటా హుస్సేన్ బీహార్ గవర్నర్గా నియమితులయ్యారు.
తెలంగాణ నూతన గవర్నర్గా బాధ్యతలు స్వీకరించనున్న శివ ప్రతాప్ శుక్లాకు సుదీర్ఘ రాజకీయ అనుభవం ఉంది. 1952 ఏప్రిల్ 1న ఉత్తరప్రదేశ్లోని గోరఖ్పూర్లో జన్మించిన ఆయన, దీన్ దయాళ్ ఉపాధ్యాయ గోరఖ్పూర్ విశ్వవిద్యాలయం నుంచి న్యాయశాస్త్రంలో పట్టా పొందారు. విద్యార్థి దశలో ఏబీవీపీ కార్యకర్తగా రాజకీయాల్లో ప్రవేశించి, తరువాత భారతీయ జనతా పార్టీ కార్యకలాపాల్లో చురుకుగా పాల్గొన్నారు.
1989లో గోరఖ్పూర్ నుంచి తొలిసారి ఎమ్మెల్యేగా ఎన్నికైన శివ ప్రతాప్ శుక్లా, 1991, 1993, 1996లో కూడా వరుస విజయాలు సాధించారు. ఉత్తరప్రదేశ్ ప్రభుత్వంలో కళ్యాణ్ సింగ్, రాజ్నాథ్ సింగ్, రామ్ ప్రకాశ్ గుప్తాల కేబినెట్లలో జైళ్లు, గ్రామాభివృద్ధి శాఖల మంత్రిగా పనిచేశారు. 2016లో రాజ్యసభకు ఎన్నికైన ఆయన, 2017లో ప్రధాని నరేంద్ర మోదీ మంత్రివర్గంలో ఆర్థిక శాఖ సహాయ మంత్రిగా పనిచేశారు. 2023 ఫిబ్రవరిలో హిమాచల్ ప్రదేశ్ 29వ గవర్నర్గా బాధ్యతలు స్వీకరించారు. తాజాగా తెలంగాణ గవర్నర్గా నియమితులయ్యారు.
The Central Government announced a reshuffle of Governors across several states. As part of this decision, Shiv Pratap Shukla has been appointed as the new Governor of Telangana. The announcement was made by the President’s Office following changes triggered after the resignation of West Bengal Governor C.V. Ananda Bose.
In the reshuffle, R.N. Ravi, who was serving as the Governor of Tamil Nadu, has been transferred to West Bengal. Jishnu Dev Varma, who was the Governor of Telangana, has been moved to Maharashtra. Shiv Pratap Shukla, previously the Governor of Himachal Pradesh, has now been appointed as the Governor of Telangana. Vinai Kumar Saxena has been appointed as the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, while Kavinder Gupta will serve as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh. Tarunjit Singh Sandhu has been appointed as the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi. Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar has been given additional charge as the Governor of Tamil Nadu. Nand Kishore Yadav has been appointed Governor of Nagaland, and Syed Ata Hussain has been appointed Governor of Bihar.
Shiv Pratap Shukla has a long political career. Born on April 1, 1952, in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, he completed his law degree from Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University. He entered politics through student activism with ABVP and later became an active member of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
He was first elected as an MLA from Gorakhpur in 1989 and won subsequent elections in 1991, 1993, and 1996. He served as a minister handling prisons and rural development in the Uttar Pradesh governments led by Kalyan Singh, Rajnath Singh, and Ram Prakash Gupta. In 2016, he was elected to the Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh. In 2017, he served as Minister of State for Finance in the cabinet led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In February 2023, he was appointed the 29th Governor of Himachal Pradesh, and now he has been appointed as the Governor of Telangana.
