Aadhaar App Pre-install Proposal Faces Pushback from Smartphone Makers

అయితే, ఆపిల్, శాంసంగ్, గూగుల్ వంటి ప్రముఖ స్మార్ట్ఫోన్ తయారీ సంస్థలు ఈ ప్రతిపాదనపై అభ్యంతరం వ్యక్తం చేశాయి. ఫోన్లలో ఏ యాప్లు ఉండాలి అన్న నిర్ణయం కంపెనీలదే కావాలని, వినియోగదారుల గోప్యత మరియు భద్రతపై ప్రభావం ఉండొచ్చని వారు పేర్కొన్నారు.
మాన్యుఫ్యాక్చరర్స్ అసోసియేషన్ ఫర్ ఇన్ఫర్మేషన్ టెక్నాలజీ (MAIT) కూడా ఈ నిర్ణయాన్ని వ్యతిరేకించింది. ప్రీ-ఇన్స్టాలేషన్ వల్ల కంపెనీలు ప్రత్యేక ఉత్పత్తి లైన్లు ఏర్పాటు చేయాల్సి రావచ్చని, లాజిస్టికల్ సమస్యలు తలెత్తే అవకాశం ఉందని అభిప్రాయపడింది.
పశ్చిమాసియా ప్రాంతంలో ఉద్రిక్తతలు పెరగడంతో గ్లోబల్ టెక్నాలజీ, సరఫరా వ్యవస్థలపై కూడా ప్రభావం పడుతున్న నేపథ్యంలో, ఇలాంటి నిర్ణయాలు పరిశ్రమపై అదనపు భారం పెంచవచ్చని నిపుణులు చెబుతున్నారు.
ఇదే సమయంలో, ఆధార్ యాప్ను ముందుగానే అందుబాటులో ఉంచడం వల్ల ప్రజలు సులభంగా సేవలను వినియోగించుకోవచ్చని కేంద్రం భావిస్తోంది. అయితే, కంపెనీల అభిప్రాయాలను పరిగణలోకి తీసుకుని ఈ ప్రతిపాదనలో మార్పులు చేస్తారా లేదా అనేది స్పష్టత రావాల్సి ఉంది.
The central government proposed pre-installing the Aadhaar app on all new smartphones to improve accessibility to digital services. The app allows users to update personal details, manage family profiles, and secure biometric data.
However, major smartphone manufacturers like Apple, Samsung, and Google have opposed the move, citing concerns over user privacy, security, and the autonomy to decide which apps are installed on their devices.
The Manufacturers Association for Information Technology (MAIT) also raised objections, stating that such a mandate could create logistical challenges and require separate product lines for the Indian market.
Industry experts suggest that global supply chain pressures and geopolitical tensions may further complicate implementation.
While the government sees this move as a step toward digital convenience, the final decision will depend on further discussions with stakeholders.
