హైదరాబాద్: లోక్సభ నియోజకవర్గాల పునర్విభజన అంశంపై తెలంగాణ ముఖ్యమంత్రి ఎ. రేవంత్ రెడ్డి కీలక వ్యాఖ్యలు చేశారు. ఉత్తర, దక్షిణ రాష్ట్రాల మధ్య అసమానతలు పెరగకుండా జాగ్రత్తలు తీసుకోవాలని సూచించారు. ప్రస్తుతం రాష్ట్రాల వారీగా ఉన్న లోక్సభ స్థానాల నిష్పత్తినే కొనసాగిస్తూ సీట్లను పెంచాలని అభిప్రాయపడ్డారు.
టీవీ9 నిర్వహించిన ‘వాట్ ఇండియా థింక్స్ టుడే’ సమ్మిట్ 2026లో పాల్గొన్న ఆయన, 50 శాతం సీట్ల పెంపు ప్రతిపాదనపై ప్రశ్నలు లేవనెత్తారు. ఈ విధానం అమలైతే భవిష్యత్తులో జాతీయ రాజకీయాల్లో దక్షిణాది రాష్ట్రాల ప్రాధాన్యం తగ్గే ప్రమాదం ఉందని అన్నారు.
పునర్విభజనపై ముందుగా అఖిలపక్ష సమావేశం నిర్వహించి, అన్ని రాష్ట్రాల అభిప్రాయాలను తీసుకుని నిర్ణయం తీసుకోవాల్సిందని పేర్కొన్నారు. ముందే నిర్ణయాలు తీసుకుని తర్వాత అభిప్రాయాలు అడగడం సరైన విధానం కాదని అభిప్రాయపడ్డారు.
కేంద్రం-రాష్ట్రాల మధ్య సుహృద్భావ వాతావరణం అవసరమని, దేశ సమగ్రాభివృద్ధికి అన్ని ప్రాంతాలకు సమాన ప్రాధాన్యం ఉండాలని సీఎం పేర్కొన్నారు. అలాగే దేశంలో ఇంధన కొరత సమస్యలను దృష్టిలో ఉంచుకుని ముందస్తు కార్యాచరణ అవసరమని సూచించారు.

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has expressed concerns over the proposed Lok Sabha delimitation process, warning that it could widen the gap between northern and southern states. He suggested that any increase in seats should be based on the existing proportional representation of states.
Speaking at the ‘What India Thinks Today’ Summit 2026 organized by TV9, the Chief Minister questioned the proposal to increase Lok Sabha seats by 50 percent. He cautioned that such a move could reduce the political influence of southern states in national politics.
Reddy emphasized the need for an all-party meeting before taking any decision on delimitation. He stated that seeking opinions after finalizing decisions is not an appropriate approach in a democratic system.
He also stressed the importance of maintaining a cooperative federal structure between the Centre and states. Highlighting broader concerns, he called for proactive planning to address potential fuel shortages and ensure balanced development across regions.
