Newly Built Road Washed Away Before Inauguration – Locals Blame Poor Quality Work
రాజస్థాన్లోని ఝుంఝును జిల్లాలో రెండు, మూడు రోజుల్లో ప్రారంభించాల్సిన రాష్ట్ర రహదారి ఒక్క వర్షానికే కొట్టుకుపోయింది. కట్లి నది ఉప్పొంగి రోడ్డు ధ్వంసమైపోవడంతో గ్రామస్తులు ఆగ్రహం వ్యక్తం చేస్తున్నారు.
A state highway built at huge cost in Rajasthan’s Jhunjhunu district was completely washed away before its inauguration. The swelling Katli river, due to heavy rainfall, destroyed the newly constructed road, leaving locals angry and disappointed.

Villagers alleged that despite spending crores, the road couldn’t withstand a single spell of rain, pointing to serious lapses in construction quality.
ఝుంఝును జిల్లా ఉదయపూర్వతిలోని బఘులి ప్రాంతంలో నిర్మించిన ఈ రహదారి రెండు రోజుల వ్యవధిలో ప్రారంభించాల్సి ఉంది. కానీ కుండపోత వర్షాల కారణంగా కట్లి నదిలో ప్రవాహం పెరిగి రోడ్డు కొట్టుకుపోయింది.
The road, built in the Bagholi area of Udaipurwati tehsil, was set to open in two days. However, a sudden surge in Katli river due to recent torrential rains—86 mm recorded locally—completely washed it away.
ఈ ఘటనపై స్థానికులు తీవ్రంగా స్పందించారు. “ప్రారంభానికి ముందే రోడ్డు పోతే, రేపటికి ఏమీ మిగలదు. నాణ్యత హీనంగా పని చేసిన సంస్థలపై చర్యలు తీసుకోవాలి,” అని వారు డిమాండ్ చేస్తున్నారు.
Locals are demanding accountability: “If this is the condition before inauguration, what can we expect in future? Action must be taken against those responsible for such substandard work.”
కట్లి నది సికార్, ఝుంఝును, చురు జిల్లాల గుండా ప్రవహిస్తుంది. ఇటీవలి కాలంలో ఆక్రమణలు పెరగడం వల్ల వరదలు తీవ్రమయ్యాయని అధికారులు చెబుతున్నారు.
The Katli river flows through Sikar, Jhunjhunu, and Churu districts. Officials claim that encroachments along the riverbank have worsened flood risks during heavy rains.
