Amid fast-changing political developments in Telangana urban local bodies, the State Election Commission has taken a key decision while major parties intensified their strategies.
పట్టణ సంస్థలలో మేయర్లు, చైర్పర్సన్ల ఎన్నికలకు సంబంధించి స్థానిక ఓటరు నమోదు లేని ఎక్స్-ఆఫిషియో సభ్యులకు ఓటు హక్కు ఉండదని తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్ర ఎన్నికల సంఘం స్పష్టం చేసింది. ఈ నిర్ణయం 116 మున్సిపాలిటీలు, 7 కార్పొరేషన్లలో పరోక్ష ఎన్నికలపై ప్రభావం చూపనుంది. ఎన్నికల ప్రక్రియ పారదర్శకంగా ఉండేందుకు ఈ మార్గదర్శకాలు జారీ చేసినట్లు అధికారులు తెలిపారు.
మున్సిపల్ ఫలితాల అనంతరం కొన్ని హంగ్ పరిస్థితులు ఉన్నప్పటికీ, తమ పార్టీకి అనుకూలంగా పరిణామాలు మారతాయని బీఆర్ఎస్ వర్గాలు విశ్వాసం వ్యక్తం చేస్తున్నాయి. పార్టీ నాయకుడు కే.టి. రామారావు పట్టణ ప్రాంతాల్లో బీఆర్ఎస్కు గణనీయ మద్దతు లభించిందని పేర్కొన్నారు. తుది అధికారం సాధించే అవకాశాలు ఇంకా ఉన్నాయని ఆయన అభిప్రాయపడ్డారు.
ఇక కరీంనగర్ మేయర్ ఎన్నిక నేపథ్యంలో ప్రతిపక్ష పార్టీల మధ్య అవగాహన ఉందని బీజేపీ నేత బండి సంజయ్ ఆరోపించారు. బీజేపీకి పెరుగుతున్న ప్రజాభిమానాన్ని అడ్డుకునేందుకు కాంగ్రెస్, బీఆర్ఎస్, ఎంఐఎం కలిసి పనిచేస్తున్నాయని ఆయన వ్యాఖ్యానించారు.
మరోవైపు పట్టణ స్థానిక సంస్థల్లో నాయకత్వ స్థానాలను సాధించేందుకు కాంగ్రెస్ చురుకుగా కదులుతోంది. ముఖ్యమంత్రి ఎ. రేవంత్ రెడ్డి స్వతంత్రులు, ఇతర పార్టీల తిరుగుబాటు సభ్యులతో చర్చలు జరిపి 90కిపైగా స్థానాల్లో ఆధిపత్యం సాధించే దిశగా వ్యూహరచన చేస్తున్నట్లు సమాచారం. పట్టణ పరిపాలనలో స్థిరత్వం, అభివృద్ధి లక్ష్యంగా చర్యలు కొనసాగుతున్నాయని పార్టీ వర్గాలు పేర్కొన్నాయి.
In Telangana’s urban local body politics, the Telangana State Election Commission ruled that ex-officio members who are not registered local voters cannot participate in mayoral and chairperson elections, a move expected to influence indirect polls across several municipalities and corporations.
BRS leader K. T. Rama Rao expressed confidence that the party could still secure control in hung municipalities, citing continued urban support.
