Telangana witnessed heightened political tension as BJP leaders were stopped or placed under house arrest while attempting to visit Kamareddy, escalating the war of words between BJP and Congress.
కామారెడ్డి బీజేపీ ఎమ్మెల్యే వెంకటరమణా రెడ్డి క్యాంప్ కార్యాలయంపై జరిగిన దాడి నేపథ్యంలో బీజేపీ రాష్ట్ర నాయకత్వం అక్కడికి వెళ్లేందుకు సిద్ధమైంది. అయితే బీజేపీ రాష్ట్ర అధ్యక్షుడు రాంచందర్ రావు కామారెడ్డి వెళ్లేందుకు ప్రయత్నించగా, పోలీసులు తార్నాకలోని ఆయన నివాసం వద్ద హౌస్ అరెస్టు చేశారు. బీజేపీ శ్రేణులు, పోలీసుల మధ్య వాగ్వాదం చోటుచేసుకుంది. పోలీసులు పలువురిని అదుపులోకి తీసుకుని స్థానిక పోలీస్ స్టేషన్కు తరలించారు.
ఇదే సమయంలో నిర్మల్ జిల్లా ఓలా గ్రామంలో విగ్రహావిష్కరణ కార్యక్రమానికి వెళ్తున్న గోషామహల్ ఎమ్మెల్యే రాజాసింగ్ను మెదక్ పోలీసులు అరెస్టు చేశారు. ప్రభుత్వం తనను కార్యక్రమానికి వెళ్లనివ్వలేదని ఆయన ఆరోపించారు. మరోవైపు బీజేపీ ఎంపీ ఈటెల రాజేందర్ నివాసం వద్ద పోలీసులు బందోబస్తు ఏర్పాటు చేసి హౌస్ అరెస్టు చేశారు. బీజేఎల్పీ నేత ఏలేటి మహేశ్వర్ రెడ్డిని కూడా హైదరాబాద్ బంజారాహిల్స్లోని నివాసంలో గృహనిర్బంధం చేశారు.
ఈ చర్యలపై బీజేపీ నేతలు ప్రభుత్వంపై విమర్శలు చేయగా, శాంతి భద్రతల పరిరక్షణ కోసం జాగ్రత్త చర్యలు తీసుకున్నామని పోలీసులు తెలిపారు. కాంగ్రెస్ ప్రభుత్వం నుంచి పూర్తి అధికారిక స్పందన ఇంకా వెలువడలేదు.
Political tension escalated in Telangana after BJP leaders, including state president Ramchander Rao, were stopped or placed under house arrest while attempting to visit Kamareddy following an alleged attack on BJP MLA Venkatramana Reddy’s camp office. Goshamahal MLA Raja Singh was detained while heading to a programme in Nirmal district, while MP Eatala Rajender and BJP Legislature Party leader Maheshwar Reddy were also placed under house arrest. BJP leaders criticised the state government, while police said preventive measures were taken to maintain law and order. The Congress government has not yet issued a detailed response.
