A crucial development emerged in the AP liquor scam as retired IAS officer Rajat Bhargava, who served as Special Chief Secretary of the Excise Department during the YSRCP government, has been issued a notice by the SIT for questioning.

ఏపీ మద్యం కుంభకోణం కేసులో సిట్ దర్యాప్తు వేగం పుంజుకుంది. వైఎస్సార్ కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీ పాలనలో ఎక్సైజ్ శాఖ ప్రత్యేక ప్రధాన కార్యదర్శిగా పనిచేసిన సీనియర్ ఐఏఎస్ అధికారి రజత్ భార్గవకు సిట్ అధికారులు నోటీసులు జారీ చేశారు. శుక్రవారం ఉదయం 10 గంటలకు విజయవాడలోని సిట్ కార్యాలయంలో హాజరుకావాలని ఆదేశించారు.
సుమారు రూ.3,500 కోట్ల లిక్కర్ స్కామ్‌కు సంబంధించి సిట్ ఇప్పటికే అనేక కీలక ఆధారాలు సేకరించింది. మద్యం పాలసీ రూపకల్పన, సరఫరా ఒప్పందాలు, ధరల నియంత్రణ, నిబంధనల ఉల్లంఘనలు వంటి అంశాల్లో రజత్ భార్గవ ప్రమేయం ఉన్నట్లు అధికారులు భావిస్తున్నారు. మద్యం మాఫియా వ్యవహారాన్ని ఆయన ప్రశ్నించకుండా ఉంచినట్టు ఆరోపణలున్నాయి. ముఖ్యంగా స్కాంలో ప్రధాన నిందితుడు రాజ్ కసిరెడ్డి అబ్కారీ శాఖను ప్రభావితం చేస్తుంటే రజత్ భార్గవ ఎందుకు స్పందించలేదన్న దానిపై సిట్ దృష్టి సారించింది.
మద్యం బ్రాండ్లకు అతి తక్కువ సమయంలో భారీ ఆర్డర్లు ఇవ్వడం, అవుట్ సోర్సింగ్ ఉద్యోగుల నియామకం, ముడుపుల వ్యవహారంలో అనుమానాస్పద కార్యకలాపాలపై ప్రశ్నలు ఎదురవుతాయని సమాచారం. డిస్టిలరీలు లేని వ్యక్తులకు సరఫరా ఆర్డర్లు ఎలా ఇచ్చారు? ధరలపై నియంత్రణ ఎందుకు లేకపోయింది? వంటి పలు ప్రశ్నలకు రజత్ భార్గవ సమాధానాలు ఇవ్వాల్సి ఉంటుంది.
ఈ విచారణ తర్వాత భవిష్యత్తులో ఆయనపై చట్టపరమైన చర్యలు తీసుకునే అవకాశమున్నట్టు సమాచారం. మద్యం తయారీదారులు, సరఫరాదారులు ఇచ్చిన ముడుపుల వ్యవహారంపైనా అధికారులు వివరాలు సేకరించే అవకాశం ఉంది.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has issued summons to retired IAS officer Rajat Bhargava in the ₹3,500 crore AP liquor scam case. Bhargava, who served as the Special Chief Secretary of the Excise Department during the YSRCP regime, is directed to appear at the SIT office in Vijayawada at 10 a.m. on Friday.
The SIT investigation reportedly found violations in liquor policy formulation, supplier selection, commission dealings, and oversight failures. It is alleged that despite being in a powerful administrative position, Bhargava remained silent while liquor mafia operations, led by main accused Raj Kasireddy (A-1), manipulated the Excise system.
Questions are also being raised about why orders were issued to suppliers without proper licenses or distilleries, and why pricing controls were ignored. Reports suggest Bhargava could be grilled on backdoor appointments, order irregularities, and alleged kickbacks received through intermediaries.
The SIT is likely to collect more details from him regarding the distribution of bribes among officials and further legal action may be initiated based on his responses.
