Chicken Price : తెలంగాణలో చికెన్ ధరలు వేగంగా పెరుగుతున్నాయి. రెండు రోజుల వ్యవధిలోనే కిలోపై రూ.50 నుంచి రూ.100 వరకు పెరిగి పలు జిల్లాల్లో కిలో రూ.340కి చేరగా, కొన్ని ప్రాంతాల్లో రూ.360 వరకు విక్రయిస్తున్నారు. రాబోయే వారంలో కిలో ధర రూ.400 దాటే అవకాశముందని వ్యాపార వర్గాలు చెబుతున్నాయి.
హోల్సేల్ మార్కెట్లో లైవ్ బర్డ్ ధర ఒక్కటికి రూ.178–180 మధ్య పలుకుతోంది. స్కిన్తో కిలో చికెన్ రూ.290 వరకు ఉండగా, స్కిన్లెస్ ధర రూ.310 దాటింది. రిటైల్ మార్కెట్లో దీనికి అదనంగా రూ.20–30 పెంచి అమ్ముతున్నారు.
రంజాన్ మాసం, పెండ్లిళ్ల సీజన్ ప్రారంభం కావడంతో డిమాండ్ పెరిగిందని వ్యాపారులు భావిస్తున్నారు. అయితే, వాతావరణ మార్పులే ప్రధాన కారణమని పలువురు పౌల్ట్రీ యాజమానులు పేర్కొంటున్నారు. పగటిపూట ఉష్ణోగ్రతలు 36 డిగ్రీలు దాటగా, త్వరలో 40 డిగ్రీలకు చేరే అవకాశం ఉంది. ఎండ తీవ్రత, రాత్రివేళ చలి మార్పులతో కోళ్లలో వ్యాధులు పెరుగుతున్నాయని అంటున్నారు.
పలు జిల్లాల్లో ఫౌల్ట్రీల్లో కొక్కెర తెగులు సోకడంతో కోళ్లు చనిపోతున్నాయి. వనపర్తి మండలం పెద్దగూడెంలోని ఓ ఫౌల్ట్రీ షెడ్లో సుమారు 3 వేల కోళ్లు మృతిచెందిన ఘటన ఆందోళన కలిగించింది. పశుసంవర్ధకశాఖ అధికారులు పరిశీలించి కొక్కెర వ్యాధి కారణమని నిర్ధారించారు. మందులు వాడుతున్నప్పటికీ కోళ్ల మరణాలు ఆగకపోవడంతో రైతులు ఆర్థికంగా ఇబ్బందులు ఎదుర్కొంటున్నారు.
ఇలాంటి పరిస్థితి కొనసాగితే వేసవికాలంలో చికెన్ ధర కిలో రూ.400 మార్క్ దాటే అవకాశముందని పౌల్ట్రీ వ్యాపారులు అంచనా వేస్తున్నారు.
Chicken prices in Telangana have recorded a sharp rise within a short span of two days, increasing by ₹50 to ₹100 per kilogram. Retail prices have touched ₹340 in several districts and ₹360 in some areas. Traders indicate that rates may cross ₹400 per kg in the coming week.
In the wholesale market, live bird prices range between ₹178 and ₹180 per piece. Dressed chicken with skin is priced up to ₹290 per kg, while skinless chicken has crossed ₹310. Retailers are adding an additional ₹20–30 per kg.
The ongoing Ramzan month and wedding season have increased demand. However, poultry operators point to fluctuating weather conditions as the primary reason for the spike. Day temperatures have crossed 36°C and may touch 40°C soon, affecting poultry health.
Several poultry farms have reported bird deaths due to “kokkera” disease. In a farm shed at Peddagudem in Wanaparthy mandal, around 3,000 birds reportedly died. Animal husbandry officials confirmed disease infection after inspection. Farmers say rising mortality despite medication is pushing up production costs.
If the situation persists, chicken prices may cross the ₹400 mark during the peak summer season, traders warn.
