టీ20 ప్రపంచకప్ 2026లో అఫ్గానిస్థాన్ తొలి విజయాన్ని నమోదు చేసింది. ఢిల్లీలోని అరుణ్ జైట్లీ స్టేడియంలో జరిగిన మ్యాచ్లో యూఏఈపై ఐదు వికెట్ల తేడాతో గెలిచింది.
161 పరుగుల లక్ష్యాన్ని అఫ్గానిస్థాన్ 19.2 ఓవర్లలో 5 వికెట్లు కోల్పోయి అందుకుంది. ఇబ్రహీం జద్రాన్ 53 పరుగులతో అర్ధశతకం సాధించాడు. దర్విష్ రసూలి 33 పరుగులు చేయగా, అజ్మతుల్లా ఒమర్జాయ్ 40 నాటౌట్తో మ్యాచ్ను ముగించాడు.
ముందుగా బ్యాటింగ్ చేసిన యూఏఈ 20 ఓవర్లలో 9 వికెట్లకు 160 పరుగులు చేసింది. సోహైబ్ ఖాన్ 68 పరుగులు చేయగా, అలీషన్ షరాఫు 40 పరుగులు చేశాడు. అఫ్గాన్ బౌలర్లలో అజ్మతుల్లా ఒమర్జాయ్ నాలుగు వికెట్లు, ముజీబ్ ఉర్ రెహమాన్ రెండు వికెట్లు తీశాడు.
ఈ విజయంతో వరుసగా రెండు మ్యాచ్ల్లో ఓటముల తర్వాత అఫ్గానిస్థాన్ తిరిగి విజయపథంలోకి వచ్చింది.
Afghanistan registered their first victory in the T20 World Cup 2026 after defeating UAE by five wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Monday.
Chasing a target of 161 runs, Afghanistan reached 162/5 in 19.2 overs. Ibrahim Zadran scored a crucial half-century with 53 runs off 41 balls. Darwish Rasooli contributed 33 runs, while Azmatullah Omarzai remained unbeaten on 40 off 21 balls to guide the team home.
Earlier, UAE posted 160/9 in 20 overs after opting to bat. Sohail Khan scored 68 runs, and Alishan Sharafu added 40. For Afghanistan, Azmatullah Omarzai took four wickets, while Mujeeb Ur Rahman claimed two.
This win helped Afghanistan bounce back after losing their first two matches of the tournament.
