తెలంగాణలో చికెన్ ధరలు రోజురోజుకు పెరుగుతున్నాయి. రాష్ట్రంలోని వివిధ జిల్లాల్లో ప్రస్తుతం కిలో చికెన్ ధర రూ.360 నుంచి రూ.380 వరకు పెరిగి వినియోగదారులకు భారంగా మారుతోంది.
పండుగలు, పెళ్లిళ్ల సీజన్ కారణంగా డిమాండ్ పెరగడం, ఎండల తీవ్రత వల్ల కోళ్ల ఉత్పత్తి తగ్గిపోవడం ప్రధాన కారణాలుగా చెబుతున్నారు. స్థానికంగా సరఫరా తగ్గడంతో తమిళనాడు, ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్, మహారాష్ట్ర రాష్ట్రాల నుంచి కోళ్లను దిగుమతి చేసుకుంటున్నారు.
పౌల్ట్రీ యజమానుల ప్రకారం ఎండల ప్రభావంతో కోళ్లు తక్కువగా ఆహారం తీసుకోవడం, మరణాలు పెరగడం వల్ల ఉత్పత్తి పడిపోయింది. కోళ్లను సంరక్షించడానికి కూలర్లు, స్ప్రింక్లర్లు ఏర్పాటు చేయడం వల్ల ఖర్చులు పెరిగినట్లు తెలిపారు.
ఇదే సమయంలో కోడిగుడ్డు ధరలు మాత్రం తగ్గుముఖం పట్టాయి. మిడిల్ ఈస్ట్ దేశాలకు ఎగుమతులు నిలిచిపోవడంతో ఒక్కో గుడ్డు ధర రూ.4.50 నుంచి రూ.5 వరకు పడిపోయింది.
వారం రోజుల వ్యవధిలోనే చికెన్ ధరలు భారీగా పెరిగాయి. గతంలో రూ.320 ఉన్న కిలో ధర ప్రస్తుతం రూ.380 వరకు చేరింది. పరిస్థితి ఇదే కొనసాగితే త్వరలోనే కిలో చికెన్ ధర రూ.400 దాటే అవకాశం ఉందని వ్యాపారులు చెబుతున్నారు.

Chicken prices in Telangana have been steadily rising, with rates reaching between ₹360 and ₹380 per kilogram across several districts, putting pressure on consumers.
The increase is attributed to higher demand during the festival and wedding season, along with reduced poultry production due to intense summer heat. With local supply falling short, traders are importing chicken from neighbouring states such as Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra.
According to poultry farmers, heat conditions have affected bird growth and increased mortality rates. Additional expenses for cooling systems like sprinklers and air coolers have further raised production costs.
Meanwhile, egg prices have declined significantly. Due to disruptions in exports to Middle Eastern countries, egg prices have dropped to around ₹4.50 to ₹5 per piece.
Within a week, chicken prices have seen a sharp rise from around ₹320 per kg to nearly ₹380 in some areas. Traders warn that if the current trend continues, prices may soon cross ₹400 per kilogram.
