కడప అటవీ డివిజన్ సీకే దిన్నే మండలం పరిధిలో టాస్క్ ఫోర్స్ పోలీసులు ముగ్గురు ఎర్రచందనం స్మగ్లర్లను పట్టుకున్నారు. వారి వద్ద నుంచి 26 ఎర్రచందనం దుంగలు, ఒక కారును స్వాధీనం చేసుకున్నారు. ఆ కారు స్వీయ డ్రైవింగ్ (సెల్ఫ్ డ్రైవ్) కోసం బాడుగకు తీసుకుని దానిలో స్మగ్లింగ్ నిర్వహించడం విశేషంగా నిలిచింది.
సబ్ కంట్రోల్ ఆర్ఎస్ఐ ఎం. మురళీధర్ రెడ్డి సిబ్బందితో కలిసి మద్దిమడుగు ఫారెస్ట్ సెక్షన్ లో శుక్రవారం సాయంత్రం నుంచి కూంబింగ్ చేపట్టారు. ఈ క్రమంలో కోలుములపల్లి సమీపంలో అనుమానాస్పదంగా కారు వద్ద నిలబడి ఉన్న వ్యక్తులను గుర్తించారు. వారిని చుట్టుముట్టేందుకు ప్రయత్నించగా పారిపోగా, పోలీసులు వెంబడించి ముగ్గురిని అదుపులోకి తీసుకున్నారు.
ఆ ప్రాంతంలో వెతకగా 26 ఎర్రచందనం దుంగలు బయటపడ్డాయి. పట్టుబడిన వారు అన్నమయ్య జిల్లాకు చెందినవారని పోలీసులు తెలిపారు. వారిని ఎర్రచందనం దుంగలు, కారుతో సహా తిరుపతి టాస్క్ ఫోర్స్ పోలీస్ స్టేషన్ కు తరలించారు. విచారణలో, ఆ కారు స్వీయ డ్రైవింగ్ కోసం బాడుగకు తీసుకుని వచ్చి దానిలో అక్రమ రవాణా చేయడానికి ప్రయత్నించినట్లు బయటపడింది. ఈ కేసును ఎస్ ఐ రఫీ నమోదు చేసి దర్యాప్తు కొనసాగిస్తున్నారు

Task Force police arrested three red sanders smugglers in the forest area of C.K. Dinne mandal under Kadapa forest division. They seized 26 red sanders logs and a car from them. Notably, the smugglers had taken the car on self-drive rental and used it for transporting the red sanders illegally.
Sub Control RSI M. Muralidhar Reddy, along with his team, launched a combing operation in Maddimadugu forest section on Friday evening with local forest staff Shakeel Ahmed and Narayana Reddy. During the operation, they spotted some men near a car at Kolumulapalli. When police tried to surround them, the men attempted to escape. However, Task Force staff chased and caught three of them.
A search in the surrounding area led to the recovery of 26 red sanders logs. Police identified the arrested persons as belonging to Annamayya district. They were shifted to the Tirupati Task Force police station along with the seized logs and car. During questioning by DSP V. Srinivasa Reddy and ACF J. Srinivas, it was revealed that the car was taken on self-drive rental to smuggle the red sanders. The case has been registered by SI Rafee and further investigation is underway.
