ఏలూరులోని సుస్మిత ఎంటర్‌ప్రైజెస్ పేరుతో ఉన్న పరుపుల కంపెనీలో భారీ అగ్నిప్రమాదం జరిగింది. మంటలు ఒక్కసారిగా చెలరేగడంతో ప్రాంతమంతా పొగతో నిండిపోయింది.
A major fire broke out at Sushmitha Enterprises, a mattress and foam manufacturing company in Eluru. Thick smoke engulfed the area as flames rapidly spread across the premises.

ఏలూరు నగరంలో ఉన్న సుస్మిత ఎంటర్‌ప్రైజెస్ అనే పరుపులు, ఫోమ్ తయారీ కంపెనీలో బుధవారం ఉదయం భారీ అగ్నిప్రమాదం సంభవించింది. ఒక్కసారిగా మంటలు చెలరేగి చుట్టుపక్కల ప్రాంతాన్ని దట్టమైన పొగ కమ్మేసింది. భారీ శబ్దాలు, పేలుళ్లతో స్థానికులు భయాందోళనకు గురయ్యారు.
మంటలు చెలరేగిన వెంటనే ఫైర్ సిబ్బంది, పోలీసులు సంఘటనా స్థలానికి చేరుకుని మూడు గంటల పాటు కృషిచేసి మంటలను అదుపు చేశారు. ఈ ప్రక్రియలో డీఎస్పీ శ్రావణ్ కుమార్, వన్ టౌన్ సీఐ సత్యనారాయణ, ఫైర్ సిబ్బంది సమిష్టిగా సహకారం అందించారు.
సెక్యూరిటీ గార్డ్ తెలిపిన వివరాల ప్రకారం, ఫోమ్ తయారీలో వినియోగించే కెమికల్స్ బుధవారం కంపెనీకి చేరాయి. యజమాని సూచనల మేరకు వాటిని ఏసీ గదిలోనే ఉంచాలని నిర్ణయించిన సెక్యూరిటీ, ఏసీ ఆన్ చేసిన కొద్ది సేపటిలోనే మంటలు ఎగిసిపడినట్టు వెల్లడించారు. ఈ సంఘటన సమయానికి కర్మాగారంలో కార్మికులు రాకపోవడంతో పెద్ద ప్రమాదం తప్పింది.
విద్యుత్ షార్ట్ సర్క్యూట్ లేదా కెమికల్ పేలుడు కారణమా అన్న కోణంలో ఫైర్ సిబ్బంది, పోలీసులు దర్యాప్తు కొనసాగిస్తున్నారు. ఆస్తి నష్టం ఎంతగా జరిగిందన్న దానిపై ఇప్పటివరకు స్పష్టత రాలేదు. స్థానికులు ఊపిరాడక ఇబ్బంది పడినప్పటికీ, ఎటువంటి ప్రాణనష్టం జరగకుండా మంటలను అదుపులోకి తీసుకొచ్చినందుకు ఫైర్ సిబ్బంది, పోలీసులకు కృతజ్ఞతలు తెలియజేశారు.

A massive fire broke out on Wednesday morning at Sushmitha Enterprises, a mattress and foam manufacturing unit in Eluru. The fire erupted suddenly, blanketing the surrounding area in thick smoke and triggering panic among locals due to loud explosions.
Firefighters and police teams, including DSP Shravan Kumar and CI Satyanarayana, reached the spot quickly and battled the flames for nearly three hours. The fire was eventually brought under control without any casualties.
According to the security guard on duty, a fresh batch of chemicals used in foam production had arrived that morning. Following the owner’s instructions, the chemicals were stored in an air-conditioned room. Soon after switching on the AC, flames reportedly erupted, accompanied by dense smoke.
Authorities are investigating whether the cause was a chemical explosion or an electrical short circuit. Fortunately, no workers were present at the time, preventing a major tragedy. The extent of property loss is yet to be assessed. Local residents expressed their gratitude to the fire and police personnel for their swift action.
